The LinkSprite Scratch Linker Kits are an excellent platform for teaching multi-disciplinary STEM to Australian school students. The kits are relevant both to industry and academia and do not lock schools into a proprietary platform as they are based on open industry standards and can support all of the major software development environments and languages. We have an extensive range of kits and resources available which can be used to facilitate almost any conceivable project.
The kit is designed to support STEM teachers teaching STEM courses. By following the course material provided with the kit, a teacher and their students can quickly learn the basics of mechatronics and software design. What is Scratch?
Scratch is a visual programming system developed by MIT for students interested in programming. The simple yet powerful programming language allows students to program their own interactive stories, games and animations which can be shared with others in an online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.
What is Snap!?
Like Scratch, Snap! is a visual, blocks based programming language. It was developed at the University of California at Berkeley. Snap! was inspired by Scratch, but also targets both novice and more advanced students by including and expanding Scratch's features. Snap! is entirely browser-based with the Snap! web server installed on to the pcDuino contained in the Scratch Linker Kit. Unlike Scratch, Snap! can be easily extended by allowing users to "Build Your Own Blocks". Snap! also allows students to integrate their projects with a wide range of other robotics and electronics kits.
Get building with the Scratch Linker Kit
The LinkSprite Scratch Linker Kit presents some simple Scratch based projects designed to familiarise the user with Scratch programming. It then allows students to take their Scratch skills and start building their own Robotics and Coding, ("Internet of Things") projects. The kit provides all of the components required to build a variety of projects, with each project building on the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous project.

Arduino + Scratch Linker Kit
The pcDuino3 board in the LinkSprite Scratch Linker Kit is fully compatible with all Arduino Shields and comes with the Arduino IDE pre-installed. Advanced users can leverage the power of Arduino in their projects and use the many hundreds of Arduino Shields available to create new projects or to extend their existing Scratch projects. The pcDuino3 also comes with "Python" and "C" language support pre-installed and can be easily configured for almost any other programming language.
